Bolivian Altiplano
James's Flamingos (Near Threatened status) feed in a high-altitude Bolivian lake at 15,000 feet, their reflections creating perfect mirror symmetry in the still water. This is one of the most extreme ecosystems on Earth; thin air, intense UV radiation, freezing temperatures, yet life persists in spectacular abundance. The flamingos represent adaptation and resilience; the mirror reflections represent the delicate balance of these high-altitude wetlands.
